taking xanax in your third trimester

My GP told me to not take this medication, but last night Taking xanax in your third trimester started having a really bad attack so I took a Xanax. I am 16 weeks pregnant and was wondering if anybody else has taken Xanax during their pregnancy without any problems? Is it okay in third trimester I'm so worried I've done something wrong: Are you taking anything else for your anxiety?
