Accidental overdose is no laughing matter. I'm a two-year veteran of Tramadol, weigh lb. On occasion, usually after a fall, one or both rotator cuffs will My Dr is OK with my taking 3 or 4 at one time, as long as I recline and stay down! I have found that three mg Ibuprofen, taken along with two Tramadol, seems to be as effective as three Tramadol alone. Irony, Tramadol tends to does xanax or ativan work better me awake!

Acetaminophen helped at first but after the 1st month I had zero relief.

Helped for a few weeks. I then started taking Tramadol and mgs ibuprofen times the same time. This combo works the best but this is no way to when is it safe to drive after taking valium. The Dr said at that point we'll see if a cortisone shot will work temporarily or on to surgery. My skin was too sensitive. I also bought a high end TENS unit. Didn't touch myAllisonpain but works great on my other occasional aches and pains. I take cymbalta but i don't take it with the tramadol together it is a no no. I take Lyrica for the the fibromyalgia,it helps sometimes but i also take soma mg 3times a day to help it xanax interactions with wed bearable.

Word to the Wise don't take these meds on a empty stomach they will make you sick day dysfunctional. Ps if you have Fibromyalgia you will never be pain free I take mg tramadol in am then noon then pm I take mg nuraton am noon and pm and they have no problem with that. It's never a good idea to take day medication than prescribed, but with that said, depending on your tolerance or how long you've taken pain medication it most likely won't do anything but make you tired and possible off balance when walking.

If the prescribed dose isn't working you need to talk to your pain doctor or whoever prescribes your meds. I always tell people to speak up when visiting your doctor, it's your body and your pain! Everyone here is great and a huge support team as well as a resource for real life advice since we're all in the same boat. I went a few days ago and asked to be put on something stronger cause the Tramadol wasn't cutting it. She told me to just double the dose and call a orthopedic specialist. I'm on insurance through the state so I'm still waiting to be approved. I just got on insurance but still can't find relief for this pain.

I've been dealing with it for three going on four years. Tramadol isn't the most effective pain reliever you could take. I've been a Chronic Pain sufferer for over 30 years. I've learned so much in these many years and one thing I learned is if you don't speak up on your own behalf, then you can't expect the doctor to read your mind. Be your own advocate. But back to the medication, like I said Tramadol is actually a very mild pain reliever. Perhaps you need to have your medication changed to a stronger medication, maybe in the opiate family.

Many doctors are leery about prescribing these anymore, even though there are those of us out there that require and depend on these to be able to have a functional life. I would speak to your doctor about increasing your dosage or changing your medication to perhaps something in the opiate family. There are too many to name here, but as I remember, I started out with Vicodin or Norco and a muscle relaxer such as Flexeril.

There is absolutely no reason to suffer in pain in today's world, there are just too many pain options to try and too many doctors to help those of us who need their help! I was given Tramadol. Tonight, 1st time, I am taking them to no avail. No adverse affects, very mild relief of pain. I am a large male lbs. Don't know what value my comment may be just another story. The unfortunate reality is what you said- Some people require medication to live and function a normal life.
